Beard Transplantation
Beard is one of the most important facial elements that are as important as hair by male candidates in today’s society. Beard is of great importance in aesthetic appearance for male candidates. One of the most common problems encountered by candidates who need beard transplantation is the disease, which is known as scurvy among the people. In addition to this, there may be diseases from birthstone, burns, alopecia or different traumas. According to the researches, male candidates who have deficiencies in the beard area suffer from a lack of psychological and self-confidence.
Beard transplantation operations are performed with FUE and DHI methods, which are accepted as the latest technology all over the world. Each of these procedures is transplanted to the beard area by taking the roots from the donor area, just like in hair transplantation. In the DHI method, there is no channel opening process after the acquisition process. Thanks to the pens called Choi, both channel opening and beard transplantation are done at the same time. The most important factor in the use of these two methods is that there are no scars and stitches after the operation and the success of the operation is high.

Beard Transplantation Operations Process
As we mentioned before, FUE or DHI method is preferred in beard transplant operations. As in hair transplantation, planning is made for the number of grafts needed and the procedure is taken from the donor area. Root extraction is done under the chin or from the nape area, depending on the needs of the candidate. In the procurement processes made from the chin area, the deficiency of the candidate in the region will not be obvious. The roots taken are done at certain intervals.
In the ongoing process, if the FUE method is used, the channel opening process will be carried out to the region to be transferred. In operations using the DHI method, the grooving process and the transplanting process are performed simultaneously with a choi pen. The most important thing to pay attention to in channel opening is that the roots are wide enough to enter easily. Since the roots do not fully enter the narrow canals, the probability of reoccurrence is very high. wide canals will not hold the root and the graft will fall out of the canal.
How is beard transplant done?
Beard transplant is a cosmetic procedure that involves transplanting hair follicles from one area of the body, typically the scalp, to the beard area.
The procedure is usually performed using the follicular unit extraction (FUE) method, which involves the following steps:
Preparation: The patient’s beard area is cleaned and prepped for the procedure. The surgeon will then administer local anesthesia to numb the area.
Extraction: The surgeon uses a small, specialized punch tool to extract individual hair follicles from the scalp or other donor area of the body. The follicles are carefully removed one by one and stored in a solution to keep them healthy and viable.
Incision: The surgeon makes small, precise incisions in the beard area where the hair follicles will be transplanted. The incisions are made at a specific angle and direction to mimic the natural growth pattern of the beard.
Implantation: Using a specialized implanting tool, the surgeon carefully places each hair follicle into the incision in the beard area. The follicles are placed at a specific depth and angle to ensure they will grow in the desired direction and blend in with the existing beard hair.
Aftercare: After the procedure, the patient will be given specific aftercare instructions to follow, including keeping the beard area clean and avoiding strenuous activities for a period of time. The transplanted hairs will usually fall out within a few weeks, but new hair growth should start to appear within a few months.
Overall, beard transplant is a safe and effective procedure for men who are looking to enhance their beard hair density and appearance. It’s important to choose an experienced and qualified surgeon to ensure the best possible results.
Beard transplant steps
The steps involved in a beard transplant procedure are generally similar to those of a hair transplant procedure, and typically involve the following:
Consultation: The first step in the beard transplant process is to schedule a consultation with a qualified hair restoration surgeon. During the consultation, the surgeon will examine the patient’s beard area, discuss their goals and expectations, and determine if they are a good candidate for the procedure.
Preparation: On the day of the procedure, the patient’s beard area will be cleaned and prepped for the transplant. Local anesthesia will be administered to numb the area and ensure the patient is comfortable throughout the procedure.
Extraction: The surgeon will then use a small, specialized punch tool to extract individual hair follicles from the donor area of the scalp or other parts of the body. The follicles are carefully removed one by one and stored in a solution to keep them healthy and viable.
Incision: Using a needle or scalpel, the surgeon will make small, precise incisions in the beard area where the hair follicles will be transplanted. The incisions are made at a specific angle and direction to mimic the natural growth pattern of the beard.
Implantation: The surgeon will then carefully place each hair follicle into the incision in the beard area, ensuring that they are placed at a specific depth and angle to ensure they will grow in the desired direction and blend in with the existing beard hair.
Aftercare: After the procedure, the patient will be given specific aftercare instructions to follow, including keeping the beard area clean and avoiding strenuous activities for a period of time. The transplanted hairs will usually fall out within a few weeks, but new hair growth should start to appear within a few months.
Overall, the beard transplant procedure is a safe and effective way for men to achieve a fuller, thicker beard. It’s important to choose an experienced and qualified surgeon to ensure the best possible results.
Are beard transplants successful?
Yes, beard transplants can be successful when performed by a skilled and experienced hair restoration surgeon. The success of the procedure depends on several factors, including the patient’s natural hair growth patterns, the quality and quantity of the donor hair follicles, the technique used during the procedure, and the patient’s aftercare.
In general, beard transplants have a high success rate, with most patients experiencing natural-looking results that blend seamlessly with their existing facial hair. However, it’s important to remember that the results of the procedure may not be immediate, and it may take several months for the transplanted hairs to grow in fully. It’s also important for patients to follow their surgeon’s aftercare instructions carefully to ensure the best possible outcome.
How long does beard hair transplant last?
A beard hair transplant, also known as a facial hair transplant, is a surgical procedure in which hair follicles are transplanted from the donor area (usually the scalp or other body areas) to the beard region to enhance facial hair density, fill in patches, or create a desired beard shape. The longevity of a beard hair transplant can vary from person to person, but in general, the transplanted hair is expected to be permanent.
Here are some key points regarding the longevity of a beard hair transplant:
Permanent Hair: The transplanted hair follicles in a beard hair transplant are typically resistant to the effects of male pattern baldness (androgenetic alopecia). These follicles retain their genetic characteristics and continue to grow hair even after being transplanted to a new area. Therefore, the transplanted beard hair should continue to grow for the individual's lifetime.
Shedding and Growth Cycle: It's important to note that the transplanted hair may initially shed within a few weeks to a couple of months after the procedure. This shedding is a normal part of the hair growth cycle, and it doesn't indicate a failed transplant. After shedding, new hair growth will gradually occur, and you should start seeing visible results within a few months.
Transplanted Hair Characteristics: The transplanted beard hair should maintain its original characteristics, including texture, color, and growth pattern. This means that the transplanted hair will behave similarly to the hair in the donor area from which it was extracted.
Natural Aging Process: It's important to consider that the transplanted beard hair will age naturally along with the rest of your hair. This means that, over time, the color and texture of the transplanted hair may undergo changes that are typical for hair aging. However, the transplanted hair should still remain permanent and continue to grow, albeit with the natural aging process.
Post-Transplant Care: To ensure the best long-term results, it's crucial to follow the post-transplant care instructions provided by your surgeon. This may include proper cleaning, avoiding trauma or rubbing of the transplanted area, and any recommended medications or topical solutions.
In summary, a beard hair transplant typically provides permanent results. While the transplanted hair may initially shed and go through the normal hair growth cycle, it should regrow and continue to grow throughout your lifetime. With proper care and adherence to the surgeon's instructions, you can enjoy long-lasting results from your beard hair transplant.
How long does it take to grow a beard after beard transplant?
After a beard transplant, it typically takes around 3-4 months for the transplanted hairs to start growing. However, it’s important to note that the growth rate and pattern of the new hair may vary from person to person, and it may take up to 6-12 months for the full results to become visible.
In the first few weeks after the procedure, the transplanted hairs may fall out, which is a normal part of the healing process. This is known as shock loss and can be a source of concern for some patients. However, new hair growth should start to appear within a few months, and over time, the transplanted hairs will become thicker and more noticeable.
It’s also worth noting that the rate of beard growth can be affected by various factors, including genetics, age, and overall health. To promote healthy beard growth after a transplant, patients should follow their surgeon’s aftercare instructions carefully, including keeping the beard area clean and avoiding activities that could irritate the skin or hair follicles.
Body hair for beard transplantation
In some cases, body hair can be used for beard transplantation when there is not enough hair available from the scalp donor area. The suitability of body hair for transplantation depends on several factors, including the texture, density, and color of the hair, as well as the location of the donor site.
Typically, hair from the chest, back, and beard areas can be used for beard transplantation, as these areas tend to have thicker and coarser hair that is more similar in texture to beard hair. However, body hair can sometimes be more difficult to extract and transplant than scalp hair, and the results may not be as natural-looking as those achieved with scalp hair transplantation.
Overall, the decision to use body hair for beard transplantation depends on the individual patient’s needs and the surgeon’s assessment of the available donor hair. It’s important for patients to discuss their options with a qualified hair restoration surgeon to determine the best course of action for their specific situation.
